• Notes

  Robert married Abigail Randall in Salem, and their first two children were born here. In 1679, Robert and his brother, John, went to the area of Conn., along the Conn. River, where the future village of Enfield was to be located. They lived their first winter in an excavation in the side of the hill. Two years later they moved their families here. In 1685, they had extra land given to them because they were the "first cummers". Robert was one of the first constables in Enfield.
