• Notes

  Josiah served as lieutenant, 9th company, 6th regiment. It appears that he lived in the Wethersfield/Rocky Hill area all of his life. His first wife, Deborah, died at age 29. The following year Josiah married Mercy Miller. Mercy was the earliest midwife in Rocky Hill. She was known to all as "Granny", and followed her calling until late in life.
