  John was born in Watertown, MA in that part later set off as Weston. As a young man, he moved to Pomfret, CT where he married and lived the rest of his life on a farm given to him by his parents. His wife, Abigail (Sabin) was born in Medfield, MA, but had moved to Pomfret with her parents in 1716. John and Abigail Parkhurst's tombstones are still standing in the S. Pomfret Cemetary. John's tombstone states that he died on Oct. 22, 1775, but the CT. Vital Records give the date as Oct. 23rd.
