- Grace Warner Rogers, 89 of South Main St., Nichols went home to be with her Lord on Monday evening, Sept. 15, 2003 following a period of declining health. Grace was born on July 23, 1914 in Nichols, N.Y. a daughter of the late Floyd and Daisy (Rockefeller) Warner. She was a graduate of Nichols High School class of 1932. Following high school Grace enrolled into the Robert Packer School of Nursing and received her nursing certificate in 1935. On Sept. 15, 1937, Grace married Percy E. Rogers. For many years, Grace served as the school nurse at Nichols Elementery. Grace was a devoted member of the Nichols United Methodist Church where she participated in the craft classes. In addition she was a long time member of the Order of Eastern Stars, Nichols; the Nichols and Tioga Center Senior Citizens and was a founding member of the Nichols Alumni Association. Grace is survived by her daughter and son in law: Barbara and David Moore; a son and daughter in law: Bryan L. and Virginia Rogers all of Rome, Pa; her grandchildren: Penny, Tommy, Bryan, David, Timmy and Frank; and several great grandchildren. Grace was predeceased by her husband Percy E. Rogers on Aug. 8, 1983; an infant brother Dale Warner and sister Florence Goble. Funeral services and a celebration of Grace's life will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Rev. Val M. Rommel, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the North Orwell Cemetery.
