Emilie Marie Schultheiss was born August 8, 1892, probably in Bethany Twp., Gratiot Co., MI. She was the fifth child and fourth daughter of Frederick Julius Gottleib Schultheiss and Emma Pequegnat. Her father was a farmer and carpenter. In 1919 she married Louis E. Housel, who served in the military during WWI in France.
